Two questions

.
Once in a while those crafty Libertarians come up with a good idea to go along with their decidedly dicey positions on immigration and privatization. David Boaz of Cato@Liberty posits that there are two questions sure to flummox conservative Christians:

1. Would you support a presidential candidate who is divorced, has estranged relations with his children, never sees his grandchildren, rarely attends church, strongly opposes a law to ban gays from teaching school, and as governor signed the nation’s most liberal abortion law?

2. Would you support him if you knew his name was Ronald Reagan?

Feh. Con-Xians would likely just say this is yet another hurdle placed by Satan to test the faithful - sorta like dinosaurs.

Of course, this question goes well with the following classic:

Which would you vote for?

Candidate A - Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He's had two Mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B - He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C - He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.

A: FDR
B: Churchill
C: Hitler

Hah! Reagan! ~barf~ 'Scuse.

All the righties are jumping up and down now pointing out hypocrisy while engaging in it themselves. It's a hoot to watch. (NOT that I like any of the Dem candidates for Prez so far.)

I'm using this one!

I LOVE it. I, too, am using it. Perhaps today is a good day to don my disguise and troll Blogs for Bush or Debbie Schlussel. Ha! I'd get banned yet again, no doubt.

"He's a REAGAN Republican! Yay! cough, gag, spew"

1. Yes.

2. Oh, no.

Jeff, you appear to be flummoxed.

While that's not so desirable, it is a really great word.

The Raygun Years. Gross. I recall when he was running, in 1980. My pals and I sat around laughing, saying "Right--like he could EVER win!!"
Which is what we said about Dumbya, in 1999.

Obviously, we misunderestimated" the stupidity of our fellow citizens. Big time.

I realise I'm speaking from thousands of miles away, but hasn't Reagan been gaining in stature recently? I'm not thinking so much of since he died... I mean more generally since... oh, I dunno... aroundabout January the 20th 2001?

Cheezy -

In that context, Elmer Fudd has gained stature, too.

Delicious!!
