I Love Hollywood

.
This is going to be great:

Here's a brief HuffPo take on John Cusak's new film War, Inc. (along with a very weird but funny scene). Beyond that I recommend Cusack's conversation with investigative journalist Naomi Klein, author of The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism

Makes you laugh, makes you cry.

You know, back in the wild, wild days of the 80's there was a slew of films made (all under the radar, of course) in which there was some seriously subversive humor; very clever dialoge; absurd situations; far reaching pop-culture references; and incredibly straight-faced, dry, and lethally funny social commentary.

Movies like Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death, Tapeheads, Walker, Repo Man, and Rock n Roll High School to name but a few.

It's nice to see this trend return. I hope.
